Background & Rationale:
|
Last school year we lost approximately 18 secretaries from around the district. In addition to needing to look at compensation, we also clearly needed to provide more intentional training and support for our building and department secretaries. Creating a Mentor/Mentee program that ensures a “like” counterpart is accessible and responsible for guiding and growing our new secretaries will help us retain our highly qualified and highly critical secretarial staff. Given that this is a significant commitment for the secretaries that agree to be Mentors, we are proposing that each Mentor receive a $500.00 stipend for their work as Mentors over the 23-24 school year.
