Background & Rationale: The district is facing a bus driver shortage that will impact the ability to staff routes. Administration is proposing to expand the Parent Responsbility Zone from .5 miles to 1.5 miles for secondary school students and 1 mile for elementary school students. This will reduce an estimated 9-11 routes. We currently estimate not being able to staff 12 routes. This item will be brought back in July for action. A decision must be made in July to allow time for routing.
