Background & Rationale:
|
Due to supply chain issues and the extended time for device shipments, student devices were ordered using the 2020-2021 computer bid in October 2020. However, we will continue to need to purchase Chromebooks for replacements and repair parts as it is less expensive to purchase whole units and part out than to purchase individual parts. In addition, we need to secure pricing for devices purchased from April 2021 – March 2022, including the potential of next fiscal year’s computer rotation. This year a request for bid was released that compared two manufacturers to ensure that Lenovo continued to be the most cost effective solution for the district. Two (2) vendors responded. CDWG provided the lowest bid for Lenovo computers. Dell provided a bid only on their Chromebook model. The Board is asked to award the bid to CDWG for purchases of all listed Lenovo models through March 2022. There will be no initial purchase at this time. Future purchase will be brought to the Board according to BOE policy.
