Background & Rationale: Congress authorized the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. This fund covers up to $400 per unit of laptop/Chromebook for students who do not have an adequate device at home. ECF was funded in three (3) waves. The district applied for waves two (2) and three (3). Wave two (2) was fully funded and expensed last fiscal year.

The district's ECF wave three (3) application was approved December 2022. This application included funding for bus WIFI and student devices. Due to immediate need, the district purchased the 420 300E touch Chromebooks for grades K-1. This purchase was approved at the June 14, 2021 Board of Education meeting.

The district is now seeking approval to purchase the remaining student devices approved through the ECF program. This purchase consist of 250 high school devices and 470 Chromebooks for grades 2-8 for a total purchase of $250,100. The district will purchase off of the current computer bid awarded to CDW-G January 24, 2022.

The ECF program will reimburse the district for 100% of the cost of the Chromebooks and $400 per high school device. This is a total reimbursement of $219,850, resulting in a $30,250 final cost to the district.
